Batman: Arkham Knight

Oh no. Ohhh no. This was definitely a welcome surprise. Rocksteady, who made the Arkham series what it is, is returning for one final chapter in the Batman saga, only on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Here's a rundown of all the news so far.

From the Game Informer reveal, comes massive news about the game.

It's Rocksteady's last Batman game, the end to the Arkham saga. There's going to be a new villain, the Arkham Knight, Batman's ultimate test. And you drive the Batmobile for the first time ever. It can be called on at any moment, and is pretty much indestructible. It's going to be a huge part of the game, apparently, and streets have expanded for driving. Riddler challenges are also car-based. This is going to be a very different game. And the combat sounds like it's going to be improved, with new additions to both combat and predator.

Kevin Conroy is back as the voice of Batman. Gotham in this game is five times bigger than it was in Arkham City and has three areas. Also, there's no loading. It's all just seamless as Batman enters new areas and buildings. Also the characters themselves have more polygons than Arkham Asylum, so expect a lot of detail. All cutscenes are done in-engine, which is nuts. Larger riots in Gotham can have upwards of 50 people flipping cars and robbing stores nearby. And the city is as detailed as ever... cannot wait.

Preordering now gets you playable Harley Quinn challenge maps. And probably the best news of all: Batman hits THIS October.

The hype for this is beyond control.
