Mobile Games are Addicting

First of all, this is just a terrible game that everyone, including me, have fallen into. It's addictive and infuriating, but like all mobile game trends, we'll fall into that abyss for a few months and then just fly off to something else. Let me discuss another mobile game as well.

Flappy Bird shouldn't be a thing. It's got pipes from Mario and just looks like a cheaply made clone, but people are still playing day in and day out because it's free, there's no micro transactions, and it's highly competitive. With all those traits, people don't see the huge waste of time that it can be. Some people can't even get to a score of 10. My best is 68, and there are people who have done even better than that. But, enough about Flappy Bird. I've found one particular mobile game that I've played quite a bit lately.

Also free, and a whole lot more fun. The RoboCop game is just another simple, distracting iOS app, with micro transactions, but at least this one is visually appealing, and there's no need to make any in-app purchases. One of the things that keeps me coming back to this game is the gun upgrading system and the suit upgrades. I've played for hours and I'm only on the second wave of levels. There's a lot of stuff to do in this game, and the timed upgrades, while tedious, kind of force the player to go earn more in-game cash while you wait. In a way, it's a good thing. I'd recommend this over Flappy Bird any day.

Also it should be noted that the movie's coming out next week, and you should definitely expect a post on that because I am very excited for it.

Now, on to some Olympic stuff.

Last night, NBC broadcasted the qualification rounds for men and women's slope style, which is a new event to the Winter Olympics. It's kind of like a snowboarding obstacle/trick course in which there are branching paths of rails and jumps. It's really cool. Also, there were men's single and pairs figure skating short programs that began yesterday, with a lot of crazy spins and jumps and other crazy skating stuff. Finally, there was women's moguls, which is also very cool just because it looks really intense. The US teams are doing pretty well so far, but I'm most excited for speed skating and the snowboarding half pipe. Tonight, the opening ceremonies will be on TV, so that should be fun to watch.

That's all for today. Mobile games should be better than Flappy Bird!
