The Lego Movie is Full of Awesome

You know what's awesome? According to the Lego Movie, everything. And you know what? It pretty much is. This movie is fine for anyone to see, and kind of takes you on a super hyped up ride through various worlds, starring various characters. It's just a lot of fun.

The movie revolves around one particular Lego character named Emmett and his methodical life in the city. Of course, that doesn't continue for long as he finds himself with a non-Lego object stuck to his back dubbed "the Piece of Resistance." This leads everyone to believe he's the "Special." I don't know why they chose to call him the Special, but I went along with it because it can be overlooked.

I won't dig too far into plot details, but I will go over just the incredible animation for one. It's really fun to watch. It's fast-paced and everything's very quick and snappy. The actors voicing the various characters also do a fantastic job. The highlights are Morgan Freeman as the wizard, I think his name is Virtuvious or something of the sort, Will Arnett (GOB from Arrested Development) as Batman, and Liam Neeson probably stealing the show as Good Cop/Bad Cop. It's very funny. And there's a lot of cameos to be had by a huge spectrum of characters, including Leonardo, the Ninja Turtle, and Shaq.

And Charlie Day plays an obsessed astronaut from a 1980s Lego set that just goes nuts at a few points of the movie. There's more characters with even more high-profile actors voicing them, but I'll leave those for you to pick out during the movie.

One thing to point out on here, though, is Will Ferrell's villain, Lord Business. It's absolutely hilarious and definitely a good fit for him. Everyone just did a really good job. The amount of A-list actors in this movie is huge, even for the minor characters. It's very satisfying to not only watch, but hear the performances. Not one corner was cut in the making of this movie.

The movie goes through various lands each with a different theme that the characters capture quite well. One particular scene earlier on takes place at a Western-themed bar in which all of the character inside are having a huge bar fight. It's hilarious to see a bunch of Lego figures beating the crap out of each other at an extremely fast pace. This movie does so much right.

So just go see it for yourself, then you'll realize that everything in the Lego movie is awesome.

In the Olympics front: The closing ceremonies have ended, and the Olympics with it. It's been a fun 18 days of competitions. There were some upsets and some huge incredible victories. All in all, it was an Olympics to remember, and next on that schedule, is Rio 2016!
